Graphic Identity
Roxbury, MA

Commonwealth Land Trust (CLT) is a nonprofit that provides housing to Boston residents struggling with homelessness and drug addiction. They initially requested a logo design, and the project expanded into a corporate identity package including a color palette, business cards, website consultation, and marketing graphics.

The concept of the brand is CLT’s creation of communities in its housing facilities, and the nonprofit’s belief that strong relationships are the key to preventing homelessness. The identity shows small squares—members of the community—coming together in the form of a house. Some squares are different colors, and some are missing altogether, illustrating that there’s always room for more. The square motif was designed to take on other forms as a flexibile concept, rather than a static logo.
